Connecting Wi-Fi with PC & MAC OSX

Connecting to Wi-Fi allows you to take your device anywhere in the home and watch movies and TV shows on Quickflix.

Below are some step-by-step guides on how to connect to your Wi-Fi network via Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 & MAC OSX. 

What you'll need

  • A Wi-Fi router/modem.
  • Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (WPA). Check your modem’s manual if you’re not sure how to set this up.
  • A computer, laptop or other device with a built-in Wi-Fi adapter or a plugin USB Wi-Fi adapter.

Connect to Wi-Fi with Windows XP

  1. Open the Start menu in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen, and then select the Connect To option from the right-hand column.
  2. Select the name (SSID) of your Wi-Fi network from the list of available connections and then click the Connect button.
  3. Enter your Network key, which is your Wi-Fi password (WPA). Type it in, and then click OK. Your computer should remember your password for you from now on.

Connect to Wi-Fi with Windows 7

  1. On your desktop, click the Network  icon in bottom right-hand corner of your screen. This will bring up a list of available connections.
  2. Find the name (SSID) of your Wi-Fi network and click on it.
  3. You’ll be asked to enter your Security key, which is your Wi-Fi password (WPA). Type it in, and then click OK. Your computer should remember your password for you from now on.

Connect to Wi-Fi with Windows 8

  1. Open the Desktop view.
  2. Click the Network  icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. This will bring up a list of available network connections.
  3. Find the name (SSID) of your Wi-Fi network and click on it.
  4. Enter your Wi-Fi password, and then click OK to finish. Your computer should remember your password for you from now on.

Connect to Wi-Fi with MAC OSX

  1. In the upper right-hand corner of your screen, click the AirPort icon and select Turn AirPort On.
  2. Clicking the AirPort icon will now bring up a list of available Wi-Fi networks. Select your network name (SSID) from this list.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password, and then tick Remember this network to ensure your computer remembers your password for you from now on. Click OK to finish.
